First and foremost, I know how to spell! 😜 I've always been amused by funny words or making up my own words, usually by smashing them together or by transposing different parts of of them (i.e. being energized yet relaxed = energaxed)
Well, the words 'Dance Pants' came up in a conversation ~2 years ago, and because of my ridiculous habit of mixing up words for my own entertainment, I snorted and said, "Hey! Dants Pance!" not initially realizing that the words sound the same even with the mixed up spelling and wondering why no one found it as delightful as I did.
What started as a gobbledygook name that made me smile has now evolved into a the company now known as Dants Pance LLC.
I have always wanted this Silhouette tattooed on the inside of my left ankle. It'll happen someday, but when I was ready to design my logo, I knew this had to be in it. If you go through my posts, you'll see a picture of me doing this same... movement? Shape? Whatever you want to call it. I absolutely love it.
Dance has such a wide spectrum of influence, history, style, meaning, and purpose. Everyone can dance regardless of skill, background, race, ethnicity, ability, economic status, etc. so I had to have a whole spectrum of color to reflect that. Dance is an inclusive, diverse, universal language.
The name of the font used for the words ‘Dance Pance’ literally has the word 'Groove' in it. Its design reminded me of sound waves or vibrations from a drum or speaker, and if I had to pick a favorite color, it's definitely red. The font for the words 'Find Your Rhythm' is just messy and creative enough. I wanted something with a little spunk and imperfection.
I've danced my whole life, and one thing I hated hearing from others was, “I can't dance…”. My response was ALWAYS, “Everyone can dance, you just gotta find your rhythm”, meaning you don't have to be classically trained, have a certain body type, or be on the beat to dance and enjoy it. So, I made it the theme of Dants Pance, so that everyone has a space to come ‘Find their Rhythm’, whatever that looks like.
In a wonderfully corny combo of all of the above, I want everyone to come get their literal and figurative ‘Dants Pance’ on. Your dants pance might be pajama pants, gym shorts, leggings, slacks, sequined biker shorts, WHATEVER! Just get in ‘em and get dancin’. There’s also a, ‘suck it up’, ‘get your big girl panties on’, ‘let’s do this thang’ attitude about it. You’re not too old, too young, too tired, too inexperienced, too tall, too short, too ANYTHING to dance. Just get your dang Dants Pance on, and DANCE!!!
